3 y2 z) w+ \$ y, u8 XUnder the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
# I/ X; p! N5 j6 c& J( c1 }Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

: r6 g) h( I& a4 q( B$ ~7 uDuties:  Special Events  
: v! M8 R5 ?; FPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
* n; u# @9 s: r6 T1 f! p4 J) }·  Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee % O) {* K3 ^# S
·  Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 4 R( ?5 Z, w" S2 q
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the ' _5 c' V4 a0 \# G
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
5 C. W/ k6 ^! i9 p4 K1 _/ w, uset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.   
' n% `2 m0 o# k" D$ D+ m·  Attend and manage Special Events  & }) x7 k; P6 F3 n
·  Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee
- P% B) v1 ?$ \% G2 [6 x ) _& G4 v$ \8 h7 B0 [  d& I
Duties: Volunteer Coordination + W0 l% D$ f2 s4 D7 }- r( f
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
0 x& L0 q, \  i4 v- j: z·  Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
9 I+ u- C' X  z, E/ ]% U9 `·  Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
3 L4 p! T0 P' a. O; s  A. S* j·  Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
# Q1 B- A5 u6 R/ f& U: ]' [·  Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers  $ `+ }- C+ H3 ~$ P
·  Complete program administration, statistics and records
& e6 M, i4 O7 z0 o9 z
& G0 y* n* z0 a; Y3 ~3 H) y+ o$ zQualifications:
% \: |1 P' C7 f: H$ t4 u6 \·  Completion of 12th
6 i( O8 N( Y, p, e' [" L2 [ Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation ( g% i% @& s- ^5 {! b% o
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
2 G. E1 t9 ^1 C$ b/ ], Y·  At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
: ^9 L& H( K, B; }) z; [experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
2 {: z- }) u4 j( L5 Z+ E·  Experience working with and managing volunteers
5 o! k4 Z9 `; X5 R·  Specialized skills and training in working with seniors  2 q* c: W7 T: t% R9 m
·  Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
- F1 _7 B7 d+ ~  B4 [( ]8 p·  Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
# M/ O1 C: d) m/ L·  Security Clearance . T. C& H% N# e' O
/ R9 O; i) _' Z# r
Hours:   Flexible – some evening and weekend work " [1 `3 }* }" {2 D+ Y5 d4 A" P& U/ p
