Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 1 q3 c: N" z9 N& I' ~8 k- u
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
. o8 b+ g' _- I" e/ U' k) _; W8 H· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist + n; F; d, K/ C. M p4 K
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the ) P3 }8 O% p0 Y4 }
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ) b8 b& t3 d8 g6 W9 E* v; W
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 1 E8 G- S( r% A) M
· Attend and manage Special Events " W" \ f! P" E2 {, n) z
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 5 k' q! h3 w' k' E& d( U: p7 J
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
O$ t' [$ n6 F. ?· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers % [9 s8 s! ^% X
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
: H. z$ i) W8 P· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 3 {( j( q1 O4 O) w
· Complete program administration, statistics and records + j8 J( x+ V8 ?/ E e2 e
- Q2 a7 V9 s+ o) K& Y2 EQualifications:
2 G' T2 z5 R9 T% Q( U· Completion of 12th
% Z: N4 I, {* H& v% S1 e* m Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
6 d) A5 ?% q. n, Z. JAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
* a% ~2 P& i3 E7 A% M P. F· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
' V* e. Y* ~, E! J. k6 o0 \- Sexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events

· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors & W% m- X$ Y+ F o( `' ^5 ?, M
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
