Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special # L. u+ C9 W8 J
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events
& @+ V% k8 G/ r1 ? v: \Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: $ U3 Q/ G7 W! j
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
7 X: ?+ `" O% E% p· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist , j9 ]$ v7 i3 B C7 ]+ N1 B
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
C8 x) E# @; `advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 6 A6 `+ ]* Q1 w* ?2 J
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

$ k4 ?+ \% ~/ Z* F1 _" o· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Duties: Volunteer Coordination - \. j* ]$ L" H0 M9 C- k% T+ v. s
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: ) {6 f( [/ {7 o
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 3 a7 W; a( z1 n; R) W
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 9 G! M8 _+ Z, E3 d/ f' I
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
1 \% U1 [9 ?, k7 _· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers & g9 K; t, M) m( F
· Complete program administration, statistics and records - H5 u2 E1 @" g- |' W. p1 u, \
* e$ Y4 k4 F3 rQualifications: + m! K* V# p# `
· Completion of 12th
# ^' S4 r8 D4 U. \ Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
# t1 V B) {2 C3 {' O& {, j! uAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
* q8 U% d: ]" ^/ n" {· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct + v0 V- n j+ F9 ?, N% a6 L' f
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
9 I2 K1 D% |) X/ j' s· Experience working with and managing volunteers
+ d4 U1 v- h7 ^1 _" ^& f· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
3 S+ r5 |, g2 ^· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
( X M+ `/ U& p2 s& p· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training / ~* D/ i. M0 I; F' J r% Y5 y
· Security Clearance
