Duties) e0 x) y, k% J2 r
+ \" d5 Q: ^2 t' W0 N" o * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory" W$ u P& B \+ s. L
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr5 F# P% S" s* S: ?& S. @
* Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
% o% [; G4 ~8 x: b3 G * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations# P6 n( `0 V* @, G
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations: p0 x# i8 h+ p# }$ r4 V

Qualifications
$ Z" A+ m( m- F2 `- x" T
T: ~3 I) k {4 T/ N * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
, ~0 ?& ^3 N( Q# k7 L# D1 ? * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
1 H/ G. _! ^2 k2 W4 g7 }& x! | * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers
$ I8 I6 g6 u, r' B9 c, x * WHMIS training& u8 ?1 V% c& t
* Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset/ x- s7 R. }* `' F0 O
