There are many other orchid genera that are as easy as phalaenopsis and  only you move one step further  then you will realize many(not all) of them are actually a lot easier than many other plant families. Of course, interest always  precede a trial.

我查了很多资料了,但没有在ZONE3区能过冬的例子,都是ZONE5-6的,但我又最喜欢HIＢＩＲＤ　ＴＥＡ　ＲＯＳＥ．

You may wanna try the following easy genera:
Cattleya(including SLC, LC, BC, BLC hybrids),
1 d% U$ a5 N& Q& K1 T6 D" KPhrag.( a South American Lady slippers orchid genus),
Oncidium( dancing dolls orchid, you may see them for sale at Homedepot; the spraying yellow flower type is the easiest of this genus),
3 O) X' g. ?1 }$ L! YDendrobium( common Asian genus).           OR
- ?# Z0 t1 u$ T* B+ v
8 ]2 i0 I( s( N+ k0 o7 ]Join OSA and go to its monthly meeting where you will see a lot more different kind of orchids and meet many experienced hobbyists that are most happy to answer any questions you may have. They hold sales every month too.
