Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
- y: v. q- r+ P7 a(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include% \+ Y! p5 T% G8 e, e* R* ]- S
Activity Planning and Daily Activity) @. `5 d! S1 k) A+ z$ g/ U6 d
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.4 p$ p3 [9 z( [) c$ A2 M T, F9 g
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
9 S/ v5 X) g0 [2 L2 q• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, ; t$ H) w% I+ J5 L- {
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
- M% K7 A+ S* S! U+ o• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
# e; _) s: K* M1 J* W• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.* f2 M4 [1 L# _& T6 E
7 A! z6 w% N; X* _The successful candidate will have: i5 D; R/ e& _/ P$ g; p$ i
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
, c( H% R* b5 @* h" I! v8 ^$ s• Experience with children
: }, E( J6 j' k' c3 N/ Q• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth ( n/ L9 \& P% o% U2 D6 y- y. }
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
) R" y' f! ]* n x! x. E2 `3 g• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.( B. l, I: r! u) u# j. a
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
* Q7 _% @1 E8 m. B• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
+ @' M8 K S0 R8 i% ] R• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check * M! ~ p% B) H3 J/ o J# u5 y
