7 K' b, r+ X) ^  m# o8 D4 eBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

( h4 H- w2 h% S- g! M' M2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

- I' p1 [* i! v1 I+ V  WKey Responsibilities Include
% z2 r# h1 X' V& a" iActivity Planning and Daily Activity
•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
' l  g* L5 s8 |8 \! m•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
9 J+ \. v' K! K% ^5 K0 Q7 a% S•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
& z8 ~: k. a' Z9 b9 H3 }' p•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

% [! G, u+ b& cThe successful candidate will have:
" h2 `! n. E! Z' J; d: L( O•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
% v5 C9 l/ V4 D6 U# S8 ]4 S; q, u•        Experience with children
•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
! A" N$ v# k% B8 Y; o! g$ V4 \•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
3 j! N1 p# l& C•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
