summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
0 c& A, j# `: K$ Rsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
/ A/ p3 q0 O" A4 d8 I5 pemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
5 q* G: W7 D% a C- Kand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 3 {3 q$ O" _2 Q# K# `0 z* a5 ~
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the % [; X1 y5 ~" R% c( M( Q2 _0 X- I* S
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ' u% X8 v r; U; _
well as the script, magazine and book library. 5 T) D* d' O$ ?! ~
; f% _: F4 a) S" Y! n! g% h5 d
Duties: 9 i- Z ^) [/ T6 A9 ]& _
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
; S; |$ a7 Y% {5 D' e) Z# A' ^- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
/ j! D7 [+ T0 m- Implement a catalogue template for future use
" B+ u# I9 `! ?/ t) o- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ; {. W3 w7 F- P, \1 g5 w
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
/ N. {$ k' g& n1 i* F Q- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 0 J3 X% M, Z6 M. x; \
- Strong organizational skills
4 `4 E/ K( L) s- Experience or training in library sciences preferred ' f7 V" N/ p4 a( T
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal $ p( I& a( c- E+ s" S. L
- Strong team player abilities
