summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to : U5 Y1 \) D! d& L
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

" N$ n+ E9 a" A2 o8 KFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 7 {. S% G) N8 z6 ^
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
3 H! }5 T \+ N& zand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
" M' |7 A" a7 M7 c& E% @resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 1 z( e" M& l$ i" H
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ( k8 u$ o( B. U3 f! L- D

: J3 b; y9 M* N6 j7 mJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
) q2 c/ h0 L& {. V* v# M$ u$ qFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 7 p- w8 v# l. w$ f2 j
well as the script, magazine and book library. 4 o. Y5 }& E+ s

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library # E0 d( C/ _4 N. J! t+ f
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books : c" N* N' G* v' ]+ T
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 8 e4 T' @$ `- u( \0 D3 M9 l
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
+ \, S+ f& s5 ^9 G r" e- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational skills 0 g5 l( e+ a# J+ r9 ], e! f
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 0 D9 o4 M* i4 Q( m8 P
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 3 y6 y4 D* X6 {, ^6 F& p: Z
- Strong team player abilities
