FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
$ r( l+ e& S# E1 E# |6 Uwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 1 g* r4 E( M% u
artists from Northern Alberta.

9 @9 t: Q! ~# T1 J+ d, a1 bFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
& q* s$ G: B* yresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
1 s+ F; a) C+ T, l; Vscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 6 H5 u k; H: j- I4 e% x
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
, N# m5 U- b+ c7 I9 O7 h/ Nassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

$ }) K# }* |" z9 C9 W$ @4 s- Assist with research on acquisition grants ]. n, u: x( ~4 g' l# A, E9 A9 f; X
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities , W9 [+ U U; m
- Assist with equipment maintenance ! V- S. M ?2 r; }7 P# H: J9 x
- Assist with production logistics for programming events

- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: & F/ I! a6 V1 ]3 ?3 ?0 g
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ; D. K' Z5 h: }
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment ( b7 y& q- I( X" Z! s
- Advance organizational and research skills ( h d" S+ P+ x( x
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 5 ~, o1 D9 _6 W% ~( }$ X
- Strong team player abilities
