- L4 K4 J: _: L' YFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
( k- `6 r% j4 ?7 |% H% z( Owhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

% x# Q7 r& m, j2 P1 y6 tFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ G+ S* \8 P3 v1 |and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

& x% F3 P) I, k( _! `) ]& [2 PJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

% v. A! a  ~" o( @. EDuties:
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
: W/ w2 E) e: D9 Y- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
$ f  w8 I6 B1 I$ k1 y- Provide vacation relief

. C- J" H7 k! d5 A! A: h/ x- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
& G8 i' p/ r/ Z! k8 Hsecondary training
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
( P+ k3 X  y, k+ e$ d3 u- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

2 {5 x& v! W1 ~* {  P0 ~Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
3 [3 J0 X7 s) h* @3 v+ O4 E+ w) K9 l4 K- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
2 h5 L# P4 ]  E2 Q. V- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
- Advance organizational and research skills
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
  f9 [" K/ _; t$ b2 T/ ?' G# p- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
