Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
; G3 S. g+ V" J. Q$ w- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to ; B3 {4 R6 L! T( Y* p
provide services for Chinese community
7 s1 o" T2 t& z- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
% ~4 S7 D) U% S1 z. M access to mainstream services
! s; W% A% W/ F: g4 C: J2 f. S- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of ) N$ ^7 n: F0 ~0 X/ v
social services
' V/ S1 i2 k5 W4 n3 M- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
}$ I. S! g0 R7 N0 P- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
- X, e) Y6 t, h- update ASSIST website5 _% J4 \3 z, S5 F7 o
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre( z# y. V8 g% X* g% M' Z. O9 Q @
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services+ U/ L3 N7 S! l( r- A- R7 l
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)5 m1 ^ ]' M4 u

Qualifications0 O& H4 r& i' \1 \5 B- L
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of ) T0 S/ \# E |% t8 `3 Z
experience and education
& i% H9 N8 Y6 }! o% a5 z( u/ C- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
3 k7 L+ h/ [! _5 f# W! c& R) {- experience in community work and immigrant services2 Z2 m# h) s+ [- V& ^' j. q& x
- experience in website update/design
9 o/ S1 ^8 L8 |- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
