Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to ( ~: n" F! c3 I1 E
provide services for Chinese community
7 L! Y9 W$ k- P6 i' u) g- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population ' ?$ y: K T E' @1 \8 s( M
access to mainstream services
% j# w/ @, N# v. p( A; l# V. L% Y- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
/ U* a' D0 M+ q9 v social services- j3 j5 ~. |6 P& G* }) m. p" C& J+ {
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
' {3 c3 E0 d/ a; J) U, v- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
) W3 ]# p9 _6 |6 ]' B' T% |- update ASSIST website2 ]$ u! J, j' _4 p
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
4 K! l8 O b* l2 y. Z& W# I% l- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
# ?; a& {# r) `. ^' Z- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

1 k0 c3 a2 [; j( [0 A8 y- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of , g1 k$ f; u4 i
experience and education
3 z& S# t, ~! ~6 l+ R% d: S- good oral and written Chinese and English skills" G9 w- j8 c b3 z4 m2 g5 a% i
- experience in community work and immigrant services! B/ p5 X5 U5 E- Z- c; A% {
- experience in website update/design7 S9 H u8 {" Q/ B2 q4 J$ g
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset: Q/ D& a5 N) O. n
