Duties! y4 l z% K7 K& r, P
1 |6 r. T! s+ E# F5 K * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
3 t z: f8 r/ e6 J) l n * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis5 ^ ]2 C+ v8 c9 }8 t
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
. D$ C5 N1 d* ?; n! l$ f; Q * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 3 }6 M! t: p u
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
