Duties

    * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
    * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
0 f( Y/ p4 H) t6 W    * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
    * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
: J9 P% }2 ~$ W0 L2 ?4 ^    * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
    * Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
* w! D! k8 ^/ X    * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

Qualifications

    * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
    * Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required

you mean the pay is cheaper, but i think there are lots people can do and this kind of job is worth this price. It is not senior analysist

本來 GC-MS 的， 聼說在 GM 裝焊擡推都有 us$76/hr,現在改行了。

  d: ^1 u) \( S& y; X好了。言歸正傳，ua 給的工資，往往只得市場的 6至7成。

You've never heard of Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry?
# q; w2 c! a( q; u4 q7 qSamples were first separated into components by GC before sending to MS for identification.
+ @' X/ ]+ U' ]" v; kwage range from $42000 to $80000 /year.

: U$ ?* @+ _1 d' [5 ^9 ^ti-MS stands for mass spectrometer with thermal ionization source.
