* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications! U9 ]/ e/ k; ]/ m0 J; Q k
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
0 f( Y/ p4 H) t6 W * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance9 D3 O) F {. v$ d
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
: J9 P% }2 ~$ W0 L2 ?4 ^ * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies5 V' }5 w& Q* G: g
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
* w! D! k8 ^/ X * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

Qualifications

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred7 h+ T( V* K6 ]/ L8 X
