A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.* q# ?! A! s ?' c& i; N6 z
The program includes the following elements:
( r4 E. x- v! P& U' c• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
* [) B$ R5 k# k3 O$ `* ]" l! u• Standard Child Care First Aid- c$ D! l# ~" [8 p- P
• WHMIS
I( @" |0 K+ C n2 z Y" V @( t• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
/ s" H# d4 @* g% K2 D9 W" q& T• Components to improve communication skills

Eligibility Criteria
+ @, S! n/ k+ _8 b0 J• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen/ u6 r/ U. o; \2 Z% Z7 p
of Canada
4 H3 U) Z' U4 ?7 B• have a Social Insurance Number; j% v' f) r, X& D: t3 f0 ~- }
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
* d: G* r' h, O0 k8 D, p• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
4 P2 A4 s7 Y ]: d j• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time# ^& |7 R2 Q t4 W) X% z) }
program

the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:0 O( _8 U2 f! I( c4 t, g
• be unemployed or underemployed.
) @* w7 s' I$ k6 NThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course' h7 x7 A- S1 _- J M% d
• meet the financial eligibility criteria
