A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.
$ d$ c; R9 s9 M# P1 b& GThis program is designed to provide participants with the skills and8 a' _- j* k" v9 c" c
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.* v* [6 V- O, @+ Z* l8 J
The program includes the following elements:
( N" _: ?$ w: p• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
% x8 ~4 V. p+ l6 E• Standard Child Care First Aid) [3 Y; P5 T- v6 B
• WHMIS5 ~( l4 l* |; I" r/ S
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care! U8 q. |" i }5 p* H
• Components to improve communication skills
# \# J6 m4 v1 n+ g' [( |• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search
" ^* ~/ w' t* [/ ?• Practicum Placements; N+ k* K& O, N& C
Eligibility Criteria/ C; h) S+ j% u( _
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen$ P! q/ Q1 ?; u
of Canada o/ B8 @. i# O) [% l
• have a Social Insurance Number
# y3 z' B% m6 ?$ t• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
$ \4 k+ ~4 [3 K• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
8 K( a* P/ V; A$ U9 t• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time; c; E8 E# O. Q! c) D

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
2 _5 |$ s" _" D4 W& s6 q0 k& p" v/ Jthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:) B2 m4 c0 n. i& q) _9 W9 n2 H( V/ j
• be unemployed or underemployed.

• meet the financial eligibility criteria
