A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.% W {9 W: C3 [ j( Z! g! [
The program includes the following elements:$ K$ O& T6 q+ n: J
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
% J) d+ b A3 p8 K+ m/ P• Standard Child Care First Aid
/ c9 @0 ?, }. i3 d• WHMIS8 }/ f4 `& a1 ]3 w
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
" _' g) C5 Z/ z# U' r• Components to improve communication skills
$ _0 S+ D% l% ^$ M4 y9 @• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

. D3 X# V9 \2 {6 `' H, c• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen/ C) D- b( I, w) H
of Canada0 m0 u! A' I' D1 r4 k: Q
• have a Social Insurance Number) t, W: P1 J, i+ Z2 u1 a( k
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
! p7 o# V: p/ t% @9 N• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
6 S, B5 k2 s0 ~( R& ]the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
4 a$ M6 V+ n- e+ i• be unemployed or underemployed.
' z9 L/ }" h0 LThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course
