A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.8 g9 h* Z( n5 ?1 j8 X }5 x
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and
* o) |! Y" y# }* _knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.5 Y6 i% _+ L, H" G9 m* m
The program includes the following elements:

• Standard Child Care First Aid! y& C9 I7 x) X7 F- M! R
• WHMIS! X& g4 w! C( Y, x1 e! M" g( o& {% o
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
: ]+ I: b8 f+ g, B+ J• Components to improve communication skills- m- j+ ~) [7 k" c" e' h) F2 f; ] q
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search+ d. a& ?( T9 z, T* U; V# k
• Practicum Placements4 l% k5 D0 w, [: k4 \
Eligibility Criteria
# [5 Z V- z) Y7 g9 R• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen: `% C7 f0 @, q T) h( ]
of Canada! X- z# e; B0 e8 ^
• have a Social Insurance Number- z$ _2 K5 F. L5 r( B" B4 h
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
7 V* u% l8 @, _2 e4 x& N! K• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent8 d- M; b' ]( a X0 W+ M& @
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
- y/ E5 H/ g6 J# _2 L/ athe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:" F7 R2 M% v% C
• be unemployed or underemployed.- i3 A! b8 C: Y( E7 N: W9 v
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course) E9 g) w8 W$ s. h( v/ W
• meet the financial eligibility criteria( P$ x5 l3 R; F; U7 N# p
