If you dont care if it's purebred or not, you can adopt one from SPCA, Petcetera, or Petsmart, where they have new-born or very young puppies occasionally, and adult dogs anytime. Otherwise, you are recommended to find a responsible breeder in the adjacent area, which is more reliable than buying from kijiji or other personals. But you can get much more from responsible breeders, such as health guarantee, vaccinnation shots, pedigree certificates, CKC registration,...and so on.
