Position Abstract: as Manager of Volunteer Development, you are committed to seeing that the mission/vision are actively pursued within the Volunteer program as it facilitates a variety of opportunities for groups/individuals to participate in The Mustard Seed's ministry. 6 T$ m9 h- O1 n
* Z5 }& @5 @4 z9 `/ t% S# L8 W% S" ZThe Manager of Volunteer Development reports to the Director of Development & is responsible for the development/oversight of all volunteer recruitment, training, placement & equipping of staff for volunteer supervision/mentorship.

The ideal candidate will have: had personal encounters with people living in poverty/demonstrates an ability to understand issues of the inner city. S/he is passionate about volunteers participating in ministry to the poor and can communicate with a diverse range of partners. Knowledge of volunteer recruitment and management is necessary and understanding non-profit management is desirable.

* \6 V* ^8 Y( H2 VIn Addition: the candidate has the ability to create and lead the development of the vision for The Mustard Seed within his or her sphere of responsibilities.

& d5 h% C9 h, w/ e% uYou will have strong communication skills/the ability to lead and build leaders and will possess a 'teachable spirit'. A capacity for creative problem solving, conflict resolution and equipping people are essential attributes. Basic computer skills required. The candidate must have the capacity to represent The Mustard Seed publicly.
