Duties

    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
7 \7 ~  l% `8 j. m/ I# K7 j8 P    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
5 ^# o4 M' n# L, _: F3 w; M    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
% Z; u+ p( r: S, N    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
( g; q$ ]: r+ m4 Y. W5 m7 A. u    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
6 A! R$ X- x$ [4 [; I+ o    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications

, j0 G: p0 f" R) `4 S) `    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
' x; L. W5 r+ s: x5 ^) w    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
! l* J( f; a# C7 k- B) u7 h7 z    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
