Duties

* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
7 \7 ~ l% `8 j. m/ I# K7 j8 P * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities0 n" ]0 g5 d$ U: ^) T4 q8 p
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
5 ^# o4 M' n# L, _: F3 w; M * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
% Z; u+ p( r: S, N * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders- h7 R7 |; u# S7 X% q% j
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
( g; q$ ]: r+ m4 Y. W5 m7 A. u * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs4 K' X# y' M( n" _ R+ S
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director; K$ @0 N$ f5 Q
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning( S. P% o- ]- A8 b* w0 f( H# k
* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials, Z5 H( k* ^* m0 O- q) W1 v/ f+ M
* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies C1 Q2 O: E( Y% u# Y

Qualifications! }7 g7 t# O3 H5 t' d
, j0 G: p0 f" R) `4 S) ` * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred9 O. p+ d; Z- A- x! `0 r
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
' x; L. W5 r+ s: x5 ^) w * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset R6 \. i: Z: ^1 j# c
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies: k" E! C: b* k& f
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
! l* J( f; a# C7 k- B) u7 h7 z * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning! M _$ \0 h8 i2 R% i! a9 B
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
