Duties

    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
1 a1 ]. G# B% R4 }3 z    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
2 u3 `, R4 `" \, I    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
" D8 ?2 ?: U* X: P1 }& l2 M    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
3 k: C0 V, \% `. s* `    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
+ U( s/ |4 v8 G% p" H    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
7 `6 K* x, w5 r+ j% b- s7 z0 T0 e    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
9 y5 T( A' a* ^" k    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

9 G8 @; [  O! `& A! i
    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
5 Y+ h$ M, b' ^/ M3 |    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
7 Z. [9 z6 ]7 ]9 w    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
1 i2 A2 n0 c- h) `' h! Z% W) `    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
