* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
1 a1 ]. G# B% R4 }3 z * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
2 u3 `, R4 `" \, I * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
" D8 ?2 ?: U* X: P1 }& l2 M * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat* e/ Z/ t* w( o0 {- `4 ^7 m& l0 Q
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
3 k: C0 V, \% `. s* ` * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
+ U( s/ |4 v8 G% p" H * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs- c3 n I) R+ k; ?; U# t
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
7 `6 K* x, w5 r+ j% b- s7 z0 T0 e * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning1 }) D* r5 l& q2 o
* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials2 r! ?5 W. y6 N! Q( e: \& k; c6 E4 `
* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
9 y5 T( A' a* ^" k * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results$ A* H5 ~9 o$ P9 ~- a; r3 i5 H* u Q
* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies4 H: \: E$ E! K$ y
! X @8 ^! o7 U+ O" ?Qualifications
9 G8 @; [ O! `& A! i* F: D/ w" q/ P' h, y
* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
5 Y+ h$ M, b' ^/ M3 | * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth0 w2 p6 m8 R6 q( ]+ b' `/ r
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
7 Z. [9 z6 ]7 ]9 w * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies- V, p- C- Y- Z8 D/ C
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills8 X$ s# q. A3 g
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
