/ j2 T# ?# i( Q3 W2 I3 l2 }6 t0 F * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
: h& e" c6 K$ H * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
! f" {- l: v) ] W' S4 I! g * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators5 t/ u: A$ [' l( ]
* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
5 O2 e0 F2 e1 `+ w4 J * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
( H8 g/ j7 r2 c' ]% A2 N. W * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses

* Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program& _" o) s- E* k* R! y I1 u" R# m
* Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
- {- i v& f) C6 K/ M * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports g7 O) a% w M+ Z) }. z
* Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs8 x# U& s4 y' `, a2 w6 \
* Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly

Qualifications
8 O" x/ K& J- T. t9 w" y- M) [! |/ j, j, Y" t9 P' R
* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
8 j5 x' G8 V$ M: t- Z6 c/ ~2 O * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
8 ^0 F& B: F2 I, z" d * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
# q8 L- P+ W- w6 T * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
# u. M7 h- M% Y+ Y: _# N * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community( o( ]6 W- _0 L. D9 q2 M) X
* Fundraising skills an asset. f: f. z( c ?0 J; H
* Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
