    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
- G. i2 h) |  W4 z; l    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
6 Q1 c0 r8 a$ ?9 H0 y" S" @    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators$ z$ {9 |! h5 D* N4 _* e
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
5 Y2 I& d, n# P    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director1 d% n+ n( ]0 s3 q8 H
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
+ `" o+ K6 b- I( m& n& ]    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth- N# C( v% C. ?
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
* S1 B( c, a1 J0 J" b0 @6 |3 C    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment. g$ f( @# F$ a! {& S
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
" u5 l: J2 {- S    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
! K  X- X) N3 x% w. r2 @  w    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
+ I" [# v( R8 A# q' l6 x% g! x    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline6 r% @7 h7 K/ N- i9 c3 Z, z) [4 T
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
2 R' C2 H# I0 Y( z1 o    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies  y1 I' Z7 z" S$ F2 H! p
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
) S. C. {! r4 P    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
