7 a) Y! L. o9 A% p    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
  A6 k4 d( W1 N! O+ P9 P6 L) a    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
2 i8 n3 v  T) D' p    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
/ V3 S0 b8 E) ?* X& L) S    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
/ ^$ a% R* D3 N! A    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program

4 r2 Z, f" ]! a9 r) O    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
9 y9 ^% b4 e5 e; ^( o9 D    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
$ X7 K7 m. J3 ~  H8 T; }* S- r- w' Y    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
6 |0 |1 Q; |- ~( {$ v" w    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
& O6 ~* n& P! P* S    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
4 v$ c- Q& S0 J# y4 O- t% ?  M$ k8 Z    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
    * Fundraising skills an asset
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
0 S4 `4 X  ]8 w, l& P4 s: u8 e    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills

    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
