8 c3 H+ `# a" {1 v$ y    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region- M9 d3 }8 I& ]# |; C+ X" o$ j. w) S( N
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
8 b+ Z/ ^2 y" G" i( {    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
( @8 Y- V4 B# w    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
) r6 D1 W6 E) j& G8 a- w    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
9 z$ r2 \) M! L    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
% |, [4 ^. f+ J    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
8 ]% Z+ r3 Z/ E8 E) d- x  D    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program

8 l, B7 m8 H2 k- r) S    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports

    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline. j0 Q$ ~7 b- V# M+ ^
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
$ Y3 L0 V+ O+ g# W$ O    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
6 L3 s2 x; {' L9 V* N' e0 V+ e    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
$ S3 E5 x, z8 e) L  s    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
! r' t" T' T; z% g    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills9 U# }2 l' @' v4 h
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
