    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
8 q" O+ C. X! M5 Q3 H    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group7 }: L( C& _* u  }; Z/ D3 E9 e
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators7 ?, j9 j* X+ f: L
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
  R/ W; S. A2 s# o/ f! h, G2 B    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director5 K6 S3 G1 Y3 s4 b0 F
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
3 U7 K6 W  ]7 o    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth* `5 x( s+ I& v" F  S/ f
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program3 j2 p- }& k$ G5 E; V
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
: d* O  N" A# o% G7 Y# s* Y    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports2 ~/ y3 L4 v+ C' A# x  d! h7 ?
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs3 E1 c) L  B, V$ Y' L6 |
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
! s. j3 n3 e  @9 H  }) N. D/ o    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

Qualifications
8 b; Q. c) u8 {% Q, n4 k) _* u/ }5 I
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline5 N5 C  d$ |  ?
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
. m$ t1 K$ k5 e( i7 U    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
( S  F' V/ K2 @3 O) v    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs8 m, S0 z- x5 d3 q4 u+ u3 l
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community# r3 A' U% ?3 w; C- {
    * Fundraising skills an asset
; ^3 ]0 w& H+ c* E! a    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills5 {6 T5 U+ @' p; u7 u9 X" f+ E3 |
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills; v% a" J8 }' y) K4 C) F3 N& V+ o
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
% q7 Z* D- p7 c9 ~$ e* {, K    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills. c' r! N7 z) D# G
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset; p) P/ Y* N, O; w6 M2 E
