" M6 B7 r3 \4 b/ Z* c1 f9 W# z0 y. lPosition Abstract: as a community organizer you will be responsible for providing training to residents of an inner city community who are actively involved in creating strategies for a healthier neighbourhood. Working towards ensuring wide participation by residents/organizations in the local community you will assist in reinforcing inclusivity. ; `1 P3 K& q( L' M9 L( d* I
: J; f9 q% c3 Q$ ^PLUS: a capable advocate for alternative dispute resolution, you will liaise between the community and elected officials/municipal administration, assisting in the development of a strong working relationship between these groups. " ?5 T/ I* m! f7 _% [$ u

Education & Experience: the position calls for an individual with education in the humanities or related field + 2 years experience in the field of community organizing. Special interest in ecological literacy and sustainable communities will be an asset. 6 H# M! D( W# G; p- P9 [9 h

Other Skills: the successful candidate will have a strong background in building group capacity & seeing projects through to completion. There is a significant element of research and an opportunity for creativity in assisting residents to address community challenges. Working in a non profit environment will mean that experience in sourcing/writing grant proposals is an asset. % g* {$ D: c( k: \5 G
