Context: Edmonton Immigrant Services Association is a nonprofit immigrant serving agency. The New Neighbours Program provides services aimed at facilitating the settlement/integration of newcomers into Canadian society.

" m3 S; `9 M9 f6 e2 JKey responsibilities: overseeing the day-to-day activities/operations of the program; recruitment, training & supervision of volunteers for the program; recruitment/orientation of participants; matching newcomers with community volunteers & monitoring the matches; planning other program activities; maintain computer dBase record of services/activities.

1 P3 ]5 P: V+ [9 c! g# ZPLUS: act as a resource person; fulfill program accountability requirements; collaborate, network with other organizations /professionals liaison with ethno-cultural & immigrant community organizations; represent EISA at meetings and functions related to the program.

" i* w5 b9 E+ c$ R4 a% A6 mKey Qualifications - Degree or Diploma in social work, social sciences or related areas. > Special requirements include: 2-3 years experience in program coordination; excellent interpersonal/communication skills, cultural sensitivity; knowledge & experience in volunteer management; good knowledge of available community resources/services.

* c: v- G9 w/ p( T) U& b7 }PLUS: demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, Access, internet & dBase management programs; experience working with immigrant families and/or settlement services, community development or non-profit org. an asset.
