+ M2 Y9 H Q* w& Q * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis4 u) w! L6 ?: i+ B. i) }/ {. x' X
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography9 f |1 L. X8 o8 {9 A$ r
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
! K% X' J8 }: C6 ]' f * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client7 s4 K& C+ n' @+ b) e
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry7 P* x2 {& d9 ?- m3 @6 b7 P
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)5 U- A g( F8 W/ d1 ~5 c. }
9 E' j# t9 A2 y) T4 eQualifications

+ g. g" i- k* A5 V0 h# W9 M1 d * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred4 V6 D; N7 ~( u7 u
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
, D: _" `6 b! l, \. U8 }. i * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel2 y2 t8 U' }) t+ n8 D
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
