. y/ n$ ]) X7 M9 K1 e- h" z3 t * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis# o/ C: v7 j8 b" I5 l
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
4 K0 M3 W1 v+ c * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques# M- l# I& N; ^5 G+ Z3 y
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client2 M7 b e& Q" G
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
, R$ n) N+ r+ G& P' {* j7 } * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals' K! N7 C+ ]+ l. e( S
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab# p1 t1 v& u6 d
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices6 t$ _- R, h- f A; G' i+ p
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

# M& N- ^9 ~5 T9 C' J4 X * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred" [; _" ~0 {# A, H- Z( z% j0 h- X
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)

* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures4 u7 p6 u2 ]/ E
* Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
