PREPARATION:
( p4 R3 g8 b) i4 T6 EBeat butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Sift together the dry ingredients; add to cream mixture alternately with beaten eggs, beating well after each addition. - J3 d$ t' K! J# r
Turn into greased and floured 8-inch tube pan or 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. n# f( ?4 \3 h1 T% \
Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes in the pan then turn out onto a cake rack. Cool and glaze or frost as desired. Store tightly covered.- _% z, e, k4 j0 T6 h& J* T& v3 O

8 V8 q2 d2 a7 _* g" _& xI normally strictly follow the amount for each ingredient the recipe calls for, except SUGAR( I prefer to cut it to ¾ or 2/3 of the recipe. It is too sweet for some Chinese. But if you like the sweetness of the Cake Mix you got from super market, you can follow the recipe.& o0 N" s* R( k3 [; L u
