Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
! _6 c' L, A' k/ ~& e2 M e- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
- \: \; u9 r8 p* m- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services& V. R: }5 t1 ]7 N0 Q( Y8 ^5 Z% o
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies. t. L# P) h) F% K. b n. C) N
- coordinate good will activities8 Z" N( B, L! |- g$ D4 g
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- prepare and send AGM information to members
7 L7 z, Q+ m7 k8 l _% [- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.* U2 v6 e0 R& N5 c& {4 s0 p1 n* i
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

+ a- [: u" m {$ c, N' A5 f- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist in writing proposal for ISP

- explore new ideas for ISP

- update membership database

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education

- experience in community work and immigrant services6 d& `9 L, ]' u: O% y& ?
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
