Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. & J8 u1 c$ p" J$ c

4 m0 {/ @# j2 o& E" Q- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
' I1 a4 j. P9 |1 }8 H2 v3 z- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services; W# |$ X; E, U4 K) d# o( G0 E
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services0 X, X* \: r# U' J( H2 m( u( R
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
; \& V0 j/ ?1 }- coordinate good will activities
( F4 g7 G% \0 L- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members4 U% a$ G( o% u; m- X( f( u
- submit information for community news ) t9 D( y$ T0 ]+ x( ~0 C+ e3 O# b1 w
- prepare and send AGM information to members: i& T+ Q* V; e3 G
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
9 N% U R( X" x2 }/ y( U- assist in writing proposal for ISP
+ Y! _3 {1 H9 @/ e# n1 U8 W- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
4 x7 I. n2 X& l j* M2 _0 L8 \0 f- explore new ideas for ISP
8 G x+ J; V+ ^- hold regular meetings with ISP team

Qualifications
$ A, U# T+ N0 z c# K+ |- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
9 M6 {1 \# S ?, Q5 L7 j- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
: p" M( y, V0 M2 u3 @. o- experience in community work and immigrant services
$ ~3 f' O, J6 L- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
/ y% i. k0 K k6 v- leadership skills3 j4 Z6 S/ ?" g9 X3 i2 d! u
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
