Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities$ y& c4 a V, X$ u6 q
- submit information for community news
5 `+ R* a* s) N- b) Y1 V- provide volunteers to update membership database0 x( w/ N: V" z! J6 T
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
* Y: z! Y( e7 b1 F) t7 X- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
- C/ j I/ [) Y q( M# r- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
7 I/ W* \2 f* c( _6 h" S- provide volunteers for various programs * x* A1 }$ j# N F
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual" R. }0 Q3 B& |1 L
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation+ I2 [+ c! D/ M: _- z4 Z1 Z
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities* k7 m1 d: T) f- p+ p; ^5 c
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
/ Z) k, r: t3 q% V; V% q- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
B: ?/ Z0 P1 [5 }- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
0 l0 D3 t6 R7 T' L. x V- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
8 U7 f a2 @6 S2 L- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
) Q9 }: z3 G8 V1 o* ]- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events : B6 m o! j6 h0 `/ F5 c4 {1 k: ^
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
/ E1 J" {" o% h: x9 c% d5 Y4 E- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
. f; x& i* M! `+ G2 j: }$ v, ?1 U- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers / i6 x; ?" H7 ]. V' J. H7 G. O, M
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 9 K: R! N4 P6 {1 a3 ?" b% C
- evaluations
# g7 H! T. f! W1 o- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications( b, e* J- J$ T2 k6 ^
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
! @) P+ P5 [8 G! ^% U8 N- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
. [% V: v% V8 h1 n2 Q! d" H/ J( b- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
9 G4 I6 p" }8 n- leadership skills$ k! e& {& Y6 c9 l$ u
- management and supervision skills9 j0 ?) P3 m# K8 I: K& F
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills- F0 j! [! n, |1 l0 o: R
