Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator 3 F; h4 H3 s- v
Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)& e, p# t: D4 {' V

Key Responsibilities
9 J+ U# `) [4 Z d- submit information for community news ; n' X# [5 K+ ^
- provide volunteers to update membership database/ L6 F2 J( ]) V& p t
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
0 [! h% Q0 p5 [% x- z: m- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties- S, f) w' `% K- v; K: Z
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties7 t, H6 ~; s4 V0 W6 d; y
- provide volunteers for various programs ) [4 E$ k- |9 B
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
# V( _" f; t; K. L- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation2 D/ r: z' N/ v @- u- B
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
. X. g2 ?: p# x/ i. {$ Z/ x- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services+ t H- J0 W6 h. F p, v, k& s5 {
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
# D6 N# s- e# V P1 L+ _ m- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed0 u. q$ O& L0 G8 v
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
- B: N) s8 O! i6 U2 \ W6 c- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
; P: J1 i% k+ n- a% L* |/ m$ L4 ]- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
3 }2 ]* p# S2 g: e, v9 z. X5 u9 \- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
0 u }- p+ g! ~+ i" y" [- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
$ ~# l$ m% o* U$ P- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers / a4 w2 i8 E3 x5 e7 ^2 d! \
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
+ }% {4 U& {3 d0 f1 y- evaluations
" t9 X& p/ ?8 \+ h5 T9 j- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre' C# M* ~% X2 }% I7 Z% u

Qualifications
" Z! ~. x, Q4 {* C0 j2 G- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education4 V% ^9 _8 d0 T, E. q0 `5 x
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
, v" g% k& H; n1 s2 ~. g2 `- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services' E, k; K% s, s- Y/ U5 _
- leadership skills: w* I2 r& O" w0 z
- management and supervision skills
# C! P5 l4 E7 U- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills; s" H3 I3 E7 O n5 J$ t
- # y* i( ]0 u3 _' [5 n
