Want your kids to learn Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) and stay in touch with Chinese culture?

; m8 |0 D$ r7 G5 A' \4 u7 p$ p. yOur Chinese School is the only school that teaches Chinese in the local Fort McMurray community. Students will progress well in a group study environment. Brand new textbooks are introduced this year.

" c; p, H5 f! y# mThe Chinese School runs every Sunday from 2pm - 4pm at Father Patrick Mercredi Community High School in Thickwood area. New and returning students are welcome for another year of learning Chinese language and Chinese culture.

借问一下，Sudbury那里有中文学校吗？是否有好的经验可以借鉴一下。

据我所知，Sudbury没有中文学校，因为我没有听到过任何有关中文学校的消息。

( e4 q# n, h0 H仔细想一想，没有中文学校也在情理之中。一是中国家庭少；二是孩子的年龄差距太大：有的孩子已经结婚生子（在外地，1/10），有的孩子大学毕业工作了（2/10），有的孩子在上大学（2/10），剩下的孩子年龄分布在刚出生到12年级（比例只是根据聊天中获得的信息估计得到）。我女儿上八年级，与她年龄相差2岁以内的只有2-3个，她的学校只有她一个中国孩子。她教她的同学转手绢、唱中文歌、说中国话。

Sudbury的中国家长还是很注重孩子的中文学习，但是目标不高：对于加拿大出生的孩子只求能够听和说；国内上过学的还勉强能要求一下读中文，写就不想了。大家的中国情结还是很浓。Sudbury决定在市政府旁边的桥两边树立移民来源国的国旗，资金来源于各社区，中文社区的捐款远多于需要的资金，最后决定剩余的资金作为今后的维护费。

这里的中文学校课堂上教中文，但是孩子们之间讲英文比较多；觉得孩子学中文也需要父母在家里多抓一下才行啊。
