Really want to save some gas money you may have to check the followings:
1. The thermostat settings. Set the temperature as low as you still feel ok. say 16 degree?
* z! n4 B& e8 d2. Close the vents near the entrance door and garage door, vents in the bathrooms.  
+ A& D* v+ O. R+ e2 G3. Check the on/off cycle of the furnace, and flame of the furnace to make sure the furnace burns efficiently . ( need a professional people to look after)
