名牌大学的成功率会更高些. I agree. A university degree is often touted as being a prerequisite to a good life and a high income. Thanks again for stating the obvious.

我们做家长的,当然希望孩子冲着高概率去了。Damn right you can only HOPE. At late teens they'll make their own decisions. Your time of running their lives is over. # F" h" f! V8 C$ o/ {4 Q

- Academic performance is merely an indicator of potential for success.

- Academic performance is not the only indicator for success.
3 L5 p& Q5 i) n- ^( R7 M- 名牌大学 is only helpful if they've got what it takes to survive - talent and dedication wise. Otherwise they will just crash and burn and leave with a lowered self-esteem.
, W% `' O6 e; u7 l4 |3 E. d- Parents don't have the right to decide or to mislead their children on whether they want a high profile/stressful life, or a mediocre/peaceful life. If the parents want to show off or to compare, use house, cars, jobs, penis size, anything. Just not your children. % C8 U. G( f8 k8 l2 V
