Everyone has his own personal needs and preference so whatever type or design one would go don't really matter, I think LZ is trying to say, which is the main idea of this topic, 2 same sq ft houses may have a completely different design approach and the costs to build is like day/night and buyers better keep their heads up and not being tricked by the builders. So if a house with 800 sq ft on the main floor and 1200 sq ft above was priced the same as another one with 1200 sq ft on the main floor/ 800 on the upper floor is surely OVERPRICED. Don't be fooled and save yourself some money. Be a smart consumer.

我整个帖子的POINT是,不要单单被面积欺骗了。同样的面积价格可能差很多,上面的例子只是个简单注解。* _; V i; @. ?! B6 K' m8 r
今年我看到的很多2000尺的新房很多不过是2年前1700-1800尺的地基,一个非常简单的猫腻。特别是我有幸进了一个正在施工的2000尺的房子,看到了施工图纸,这张图纸还是这个房子的第二代,上面明确标注了面积1700多,建筑商的花招在:1、加大BONUS ROOM;2、将餐厅往外推了2尺但是基础看起来没有变;3、壁炉位置放在中间并向外推了一点,这里居然也多出了10几个SQFT。总之还是原来1700的房子,拼凑成了2000尺,然后当然也是按2000尺的价格卖,但是一进去就能感觉不是那么回事。* ^ Q6 X+ @9 W. w
