When I came to Edmonton, I went to TD bank to open a checking acount. I was told as long as I maintained the balance above 1000 (anytime), I didn't need to pay any transaction fee.: @3 ^4 ^! K! L y+ t) q3 {% X5 D4 g

It is true, and there are also restrictions on how many times you can use the ABM or go to the teller, but for me, I didn't need so many transactions so I didn't pay any fee.

When I had been here for just over 1 month, I went to TD bank again to apply for a Credit Card, telling that I had a job, which they could verify by checking my account. By the way, I had deposited 2 paychecks to my checking acount by that time. I got my credit card in about 2 week later without paying any deposit.3 h, r7 ]# N! E! l2 ^
