JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Returning Officer reports to the President of / H7 [ V4 m) H
the Students' Union and oversees all electoral logistics as per Bylaw
m7 [1 m: e' r5 y2000. The Chief Returning Officer shall be recommended to Students' / d# m0 g* H! t% E
Council in the manner set out in the Council Administration Committee

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- E/ \, A! }& U1 z4 f

2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.

3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.7 Z$ _7 {/ z% s4 u+ Q

4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing / K/ ?) ]7 @. T$ H$ r; V& h
adequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations ; N, `+ c3 Q7 s8 X
across campus, and advertising the poll locations.( B2 c. b. p. D1 Q4 Y
% j4 W6 V/ g+ e, }. H5) To oversee the physical count of the ballots during elections/ # n* |3 c! h2 k
referenda.

parties.

Bylaw 2000.

10) To be available to all parties during elections/referenda for a 3 q9 c# _/ I( N! n
minimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday,

of voting. These hours are to be posted in advance.

13) To submit to Students' Council, prior to April 30, a final report 9 ~* N& a1 ?4 K' I/ i$ p2 s

14) To organize a minimum of one (1) forum to be held during the week

for each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students'

any of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position
