society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth

sustainable communities.

Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
" Q  p5 G* Z, X. r$ \5 j  N8 [2 S6 Xand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
+ ?; i8 O. y0 ]0 C4 s0 vworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
0 A5 H" s/ f! |4 ]9 P; naffairs at all times.
9 \% H% ]' e5 \& u2 _6 ]: K
Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
& J2 D) x( S" Y. X5 @, v1 F9 w% Z( Umedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
: v8 O4 N6 {/ M( t3 t0 bfor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
; ^( z; W" o# t  J2 ~1 lto implement the organizational policies.
+ t8 P# S! k4 J3 `
0 i1 L. J' \  l8 RPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
4 ]% d' O+ Q& h( o8 B% jthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
4 R7 {! T) r4 k! ^/ B: F3 W9 Vpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
+ J. D% K4 d7 W6 S) ]5 Gthe organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
; A2 _+ r. ~2 n) ^9 C3 z3 Cincluding a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
5 M* {3 o4 s- P* p  l  }partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
; e: s+ B  n* }' G6 Rorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
proposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
