Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
% x) l' Y4 y, n) q7 Oand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a) _! h( g0 c. V! G% T. y! I1 i
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED0 J7 h8 Q* `7 X2 g
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and& t$ Z( a3 T, y
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
. M+ a! ^1 W0 u$ `8 L+ [5 Faffairs at all times.5 z, N. j W. `: y# p! k$ h+ _

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
. ~( d5 Q3 A6 P: j! Dvision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
5 ^( H! _# q5 _0 C1 oarrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,4 b" r7 l. Y1 v% S) k
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports* j$ `3 \2 H( _1 h
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
4 S7 m& v: \% dto implement the organizational policies.

- t# V, m/ r' z8 L' n% k qPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded2 i% ]* _9 X9 O& i
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
H: T' [( g; @ I) F# xservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
8 Y) w4 H- q {& A) F" gthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
& F2 G6 x) p5 {7 b' ?development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer4 @' }8 S+ Z/ y+ Z& j
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure, e! L) P6 e0 H
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
) ~2 v. a' ~9 lpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of6 a: `3 O2 Z) \- \4 E, h
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government4 Y! L2 U' N% F1 a, B" x& `: C
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of' G: b6 f3 }8 @# X$ V- T) Q
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
" Z8 N2 b U* \* Nwork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and) ?$ }$ Q1 T* k# u7 m
managing projects and budgets.
