society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth

ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,

sustainable communities.

Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
3 W  _1 |3 ~& n5 ~+ I" b) Ypolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
/ |7 {! y$ N: g# h  c/ rvision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
* n  N' V6 b' a1 z5 O. O  W" Zarrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and

the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

8 R' P8 z& r* M. x8 s/ nIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
. n, T: }) B1 Hthe funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
6 @, y6 \; V8 A5 @7 ]1 ~: zthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
1 _" R8 R2 h( rpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

5 M( [. S2 f' \) h$ ?$ BKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
; w3 j0 C- i% gorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
/ W& |7 T) Q7 Z0 z0 gproposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
with youth.
