The Organization: Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! is a registered nonprofit
society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth
volunteerism in Alberta. By working with nonprofit organizations/youth

organizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more
& ?0 |1 o' ?) v6 tsustainable communities.

1 `% O0 w5 k+ d3 F8 J- RPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
+ z2 B3 H( U5 ^non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
- H# |* x' F! Q& i# \9 N6 aworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
9 U& ?/ d# l. Q3 D6 d% l& Hpolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
$ X3 R) G3 |. oaffairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
6 o2 t/ I7 S; i6 h- e: b, T2 Jvision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.
% W$ n$ s  s# ?; ~
PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
, p$ t+ }7 m- R9 Adevelopment of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
5 ]$ ~1 x2 @" ^1 L4 Nthe funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
7 F+ d" A1 k+ V0 ~# athat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
( V$ u, g' Y% l3 ]' ?payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
8 F6 ]' h& J* n" [" Y' ?the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

( o+ E0 K) y/ t+ C9 bKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
, z0 W$ ^# i- N0 t. x0 X# b+ l8 G, \organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

+ o% M) R" z0 S- nprocesses an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
proposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
