22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  $ g2 q' l0 _, `  |+ i, p% R  [6 L: X
through Friday

+ Z9 N& V4 l. _, v# a& KJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  & o' w) ^; t! ^7 n4 m
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  / F4 I% h: {# G8 Z3 K) o6 Y6 x) m
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
3 z, [0 ^2 Q7 e1 |) i" B3 j& }+ rcleanliness and order in the bar.

' Z) D+ R& Q0 W; cDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
' U% m# k& n9 A# U: E. V  c1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  . n$ |4 E* b) F: n* J7 ~; {0 J
beverage items.4 T8 Y6 N% W7 D

- v6 |' I1 V/ `. l2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  ! @! s6 w8 S9 [* i/ D& ?
bar and debit floats.  J* ^% Y0 s6 n0 D; I
0 \7 L9 L2 X  R  |5 a8 ^4 F
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
5 j8 n$ U* h& s8 c5 Z0 Geach shift, and upon closing.# L; H  Z1 N5 N0 y! @0 G  O+ t
7 j: I$ I/ ?+ d: x5 T( W' Q* [
4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
, ?: d  A+ c1 j) tattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
' i  R! `7 `; Z6 F+ u; Qseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.
; ?, A. y) Q( R+ C0 ^& T( F3 f
( p( c8 F& [# r  d6 Z% h9 u4 O5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
) X) B, z6 M& m7 P4 Rstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  3 {4 h- A2 T( u$ @
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.
' n; ^: X5 G* r$ k9 Z! P$ u* i* |7 [  l) `6 j1 V1 [- r3 p
6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  & K- R, v6 K' M. n3 `. p
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
3 E- Z$ i2 v% c5 h1 z5 S1 J/ Ahigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  - P; f7 a; D' r5 D6 O
accordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
, B; n1 B# I9 G! i- |' r/ D  E7 [high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
+ s# T- e* ]: A1 {; z$ B To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  * q" b% e1 Z: n
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

. s2 \9 T+ j' s2 K8 W1 b3 ?5 K/ ~9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
4 X; Z* B0 e+ y; `1 dSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
; z5 L! ~4 p( \& O1 c: h1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
; I1 D$ y; s8 W! K4 k& |/ J& q4 T: {3 r6 O
2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  , _2 n8 y1 F+ K1 R! i
operation.
& d! T+ T- C, a2 k
  ~7 \3 _7 x/ ?: H4 C* ?; ^! n9 U0 u3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
6 |7 @) X7 l  O! u* laccordance with Students' Union policy.4 @5 f! Y1 j; W5 x5 o  D% }' k( H! k" u

% ?. i7 N6 ^6 O" ?1 V& B- d8 K4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.3 \. P/ {$ }% Z. z

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  " S6 m8 i3 l* g8 C) y3 k& H  b
