The University of Alberta - Centre for International Business Studies is
currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
4 F0 y% u8 V5 {8 x/ i  s- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
school year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
( o( z* D/ j' ^& n6 V" aCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
& E% n( v5 e7 o! X; x! zvenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
; C2 s2 {) L+ Z$ `participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
" }2 A# r% ~6 xtheir program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
3 g' |  a  n( T: J; U2 E- \3 Kvenue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
8 I! [3 ]# \$ q! Poutings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
$ \5 l. N7 X# i% k8 Jexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
7 J- _4 [3 t5 Dsuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

6 z8 w/ R- }9 J4 y) ~: W, ?  L5 ]- }Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
/ e" U5 t% d" Y' t! `, b) iCommerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
  M9 J$ D" p5 i, V; ^fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
