The University of Alberta - Centre for International Business Studies is
currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job
No. 9246.

7 L2 p9 \9 ]* g& p( M" j0 z. nSalary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
- A* N8 z; I& H3 `: ~# qpay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
) d5 N2 R$ ]$ f& k8 q2 Hthe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
school year starts.

/ D% g6 S  P- D9 tDuties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
) y/ |) R2 t) sCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
0 f+ B6 W5 N4 uvenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
, t2 N  s; L( N! u! l8 W6 s& @7 \their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
& k+ G" C# P9 m8 X$ Z; `7 hassisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
# P4 g( q' K& \: I% S; i  {& W" Zexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
& e# _( A& ]7 n& ]& gfunctions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
. v% [# \" A) W1 Z# p) jpresentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
  m, e% v$ h& [" ]5 L9 xdemonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
+ b) U5 o& v6 B7 X! {9 C3 Ca variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
! s6 d4 L. J9 I3 o% Q! F! \of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
