currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
6 B5 Q8 l: b, l- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
school year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
$ ?: V& B( {' M* v" ~3 uCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
/ G( x. Y& T6 V: H0 ]etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
9 A% k& A. @0 x8 Jtheir program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
  U, S- H% H$ W9 Wtheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
6 q6 k- `0 w1 ~4 Dvenue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
, }8 A) K, w$ Z* c! O; n8 U/ x: G8 Esuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
  k" t5 K4 \% g: z. Gdemonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
2 d5 e) c3 W. Q7 m  _* l7 j9 ]a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
