The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
  E' v2 X# d" |recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.  

, _1 S( Z9 n+ pSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
2 U, X# x* K7 i5 B  U- Htechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
( p2 ~' @) {6 L9 Z6 \) F# \compounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
+ Q1 [5 E+ o  o8 p& q8 N  W; I  DChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
7 R* H( b/ {7 P. Dseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
7 D2 A- n! }4 C# }This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
8 q7 \/ [9 \. g% N1 W4 K# Q/ A  Kand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
