The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

. |4 L; w' n; B6 wSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
2 W" y4 [3 I1 ]. Gtechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
, M2 c. D( i3 |) z' E: [9 C7 e3 Wcompounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
# m% e1 d- v1 n) MChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
7 T0 a+ e  C9 O8 B% F7 Aseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
9 h) h# U) I1 Xof a team essential.
1 k- V0 i* c( I- A0 tThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
