The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

$ t. e+ _. R1 k# j/ XSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
1 R7 K8 ~1 e" I! [2 x  Q" utechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
; T. M% e4 p7 [$ cinclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
9 J- f* A3 a: B3 k2 g! ycompounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
! V9 b  Y+ V: R3 N9 h( m# c* D$ sanalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
4 s, W0 g, C' x! tseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
  G, O1 D/ e, Qhope to work in these areas.
