Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)
Employment Tenure: Part-time/Causal (approximately 12 hours per week). The incumbent’s

: p, m+ |! q- M8 b- C* jStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
5 ]+ {! I, h' i" ^. oweekend hours.
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
1 Y, M9 I# Z, @# ]4 d5 elab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
centre.
These responsibilities include:
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
: b7 I! k* s3 {2 B; ?-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
clients’ files etc.
( S$ ~8 X8 d+ k, g% CStatement of Qualifications
" T/ t% c7 g/ r1 S3 ^Education:
-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
8 V- d3 X/ j8 @9 _7 nof education, training and /or experience.
0 h- b+ l( k1 \5 N9 ]) S7 SKnowledge/Technical competencies:
* v2 \) y0 V# T5 {3 s. Y& ]7 i-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
) p/ ~% r; U, m' p6 e# ?: L-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
and Excel.
-Experience using and updating an information database.

Assets:
9 N3 ?" H" E- W5 G-Experience in using MS Access.
-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
3 O% H. s8 g: ~1 V& m9 E6 l-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA
Abilities:
3 x% Y2 @; `* b  s: A1 y-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
: n3 B$ R- O6 w6 F-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
