Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)

Job description
/ P& G- v1 h- e7 o2 t" A6 K" |Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and) T. f4 { z* v+ r" J5 V0 u
weekend hours.
; V3 p0 V% u2 }You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
8 k# q4 I- E. e% ?. L5 `7 A* \lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the! p1 s7 b( O4 l6 N; P
centre.
" c. r2 n* |" e/ K: Y9 PThese responsibilities include:$ G$ \- h8 ^3 D: W: F5 X1 u
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.5 [0 Q6 [: ~$ N1 M# t, m
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
& ^( A, ^6 k( {( [-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
1 S& L: t A/ frenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
" k3 Q3 v/ n! i/ Z# S& hfacilities’ maintenance, etc.
; v4 D X9 S) U7 e" I+ Y E-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic ( n4 Q0 \# f1 _ j3 c
clients’ files etc.

: o# g! n$ R4 Y. l4 I8 MEducation:
5 l0 l4 X! A9 v! [& t; N% b-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
' c, T- I- g% n1 R4 n4 X2 x# Geducation, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
0 T p/ L" F: k, }/ \2 N! Iof education, training and /or experience. 1 q' X; M8 H' l$ {8 T+ x
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
0 I/ U7 Z. S% `# B9 t% s-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
4 w% X9 x3 r3 O0 b, M% B7 M-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
8 o, Z d6 g# J5 z: M7 C6 }, K8 G9 uand Excel.
' w" b3 n4 P Z6 \# X-Experience using and updating an information database. . Z7 Z; w% r" r( l$ a
# s3 O% u, Q' _' b m
Assets:
6 U9 k; s9 P# d! J7 ~* F1 t+ D-Experience in using MS Access.
" ?. e, f5 O5 r' Q-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
