Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)

Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and$ {* o* k! ?- R5 n! T8 P' a" K
weekend hours.
( p G! b7 R% ?. @You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer. z' ~& P! e5 [
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the+ @# M u4 C/ R3 j5 F- A. c) M
centre.3 h" u5 F% h: }- }& ]$ j
These responsibilities include:" D2 H( D1 |/ f# S8 B$ z
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
$ s3 ^0 l$ T4 l$ Z5 h% U& x$ x-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
5 W9 l' j5 I/ H2 e7 x( F' s% V-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and: Z& F9 }. |* _$ N* F
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to % J% M+ P, p9 g T: F
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
7 F9 R* D! _' h-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic 7 Q/ O9 z( d, I V/ @6 {! f4 X; \
clients’ files etc.

-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
" J; A0 D5 v3 Q' s, F* ~8 Z5 Deducation, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination $ w" W1 S, l* u( K9 g
of education, training and /or experience. 9 A' `" d+ ^9 w5 E
Knowledge/Technical competencies:- t: b; @3 W u5 i5 C* q" [5 d
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system./ S) g& T7 y* W0 g
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word2 A3 L; U7 z- ^9 S( B' y! w8 v
and Excel.
: a1 G* X& a: Y! A-Experience using and updating an information database.
& O% Y" |' C8 d) p' G5 J& i" {8 m" Z' _3 q
Assets:
6 K- v" P7 q x6 r% x. f! Q5 P-Experience in using MS Access.

-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA [1 l \5 |- S7 ~5 A
