Position: Part-time Assistant

Employment Tenure: Part-time/Causal (approximately 12 hours per week). The incumbent’s 9 E- ^7 q G7 T) y' m7 H, h
schedule should be reasonably flexible.

Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and* I1 @% `' x: \ ]# m8 S+ r
weekend hours.
/ X( Q! Y5 f' B, `$ p9 bYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer. r+ q. A2 T0 @' O
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
1 N% m' s1 m: q+ b# Mcentre.
4 o4 w4 W; E8 T# _' m DThese responsibilities include:( X9 \, `, ~2 u7 K3 N
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
- G' R9 p: J* Z" C-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.5 M2 Q- H1 r2 p9 r) ]
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
9 t# m7 p- \3 h3 Xrenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
* Z t2 X( c5 y" w7 N2 S' Kfacilities’ maintenance, etc. # E/ m F! I' h' Y, v
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic ' C6 {* J% Q8 z- W
clients’ files etc. 9 @$ Q7 ]6 P1 S: i- l& B
Statement of Qualifications

-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, & J; @9 L% u0 Z5 k& K2 e- c
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination * X% J: O5 c; u* _3 \. W& [
of education, training and /or experience. + F& ]1 G" O( i7 N0 W
Knowledge/Technical competencies:; E0 | y8 v# Y. U8 m
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
. n# S3 b. M" V-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word) o# [2 s& G* f4 P5 u3 g7 J, | _
and Excel. 5 g2 R9 H% ~, H4 T0 }
-Experience using and updating an information database. 7 } W/ {. |- C ~2 d8 M# k* J
3 ?, x/ }2 m2 m# o! |

-Experience in using MS Access.+ K! ~( H; s8 g9 g
-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.( J; K# f# p% `9 Q8 m+ d9 C6 ~
-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA# ]7 q2 g. Q9 B% ~7 b
Abilities:
