Calgary police have now laid charges against an 18-year-old Calgary woman following the death of a little girl at a crosswalk in the city's northwest.
5 J# b3 y5 Z7 o. D+ }Police Sgt. Doug McIlwraith said Tuesday that Angela Ta has been charged with passing a motor vehicle stopped for a pedestrian at a crosswalk, failing to yield at a crosswalk, and careless driving.: s, j. \) ]$ f# h9 l( A7 ]
McIlwraith says the charges could mean a licence suspension, a $2,000 fine or six months in jail.4 h8 y. t) y4 ^7 z
Six-year-old Jenna Chang and her mother, Ye Qiao, were struck Jan. 18 by a black BMW while using a marked crosswalk at 32 Avenue and 37 Street N.W.
