Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me:

I did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:

) D( w0 {& U# l9 G T' l9 m" `He said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage." 0 s2 D+ e9 _, E5 V R1 T
"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?" " R3 d; I" X7 Z
"Yes, I did."
6 I9 P- g3 Y9 B1 x0 Y) d& y" }; UFinally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post.
. x3 L2 y% D* b& X/ x# F: bHe took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet. 4 L2 [7 Y& S" Q5 j
"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?"
4 p6 J' i! g& x. ]" V" Q4 N"No, I am not. I do not do those things.", V5 q! T6 [. k+ {$ @, N9 t7 L
He took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside. ( b! t' P s' u9 {, S
I gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:$ f2 y5 ^* G: o
"Is it okay that I do not write this part?"
. A, k5 v( I- t! Z7 D"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:8 q. e; a! b( v2 C2 W
"I do not have an address."; `4 K" E- J3 h! P8 M
I was surprised: "oh, where do you live?"
! a" E: Z8 {0 P# d- d+ E; UHe did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home." A5 m3 V4 S1 u; G2 _
My heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it. 8 ]$ ~$ |' J" U$ i# n' W
He did not a posses a home, but he had a big heart. He had the precious fortune of being a man of integrity.
