Brainstorm: Magrath MacTaggart area: Kindergarten options and struggle

We live in Magrath Heights and we are currently struggling with our 5-year-old daughter's to Kindergarten registration.  I wonder if there are parents in Magrath, MacTaggart area who are struggling with this issue as well. I wish to explore possibilities to group up and help each other out on making our lives easier with the half-day kindergarten program.

To kick it off, here are my two cents.

1 }8 {. _5 f1 i. x- e7 H8 y& p$ l" aWe need to make up our mind as to which school to register to since one kid can only send in ONE registration at a time, and it can be really hard to switch school in the middle of the year. Currently there are two options for my daughter:

- S- Y1 F8 M, g+ {# }4 D! R9 f5 rOption 1: Regular program - a new school - Nellie Carlson(http://www.epsb.ca/schools/newsc ... ions/nelliecarlson/) is under construction and scheduled to open September 2016; boundaries not finalized yet.
" E5 F9 v* r: K' m. SNo on site child care available.

4 B6 P' [# M5 |4 p% SIF we fall under the final boundary, what to do with the afternoons? My husband and I both work full-time 30 minutes drive from home. I maybe able to take one afternoon off in a week, part-time is not likely an option.

0 k0 q  `6 P( K9 n/ uOption 2: Mandarin Bilingual program - Parkallen School where there is a YMCA KinderCare close by, $755 a month, AND there is a wait list.
8 L& u6 W- `2 n/ e: lHonestly, I wish to send my daughter to the Mandarin Bilingual school, but again, there is the afternoon issue, YMCA is not guaranteed and expensive. I wonder if there are other parents considering this school and we could come up with a program to support each other and incorporate with Chinese elements.
