' C3 \- Z9 k& n, s ^9 c$ mWe live in Magrath Heights and we are currently struggling with our 5-year-old daughter's to Kindergarten registration. I wonder if there are parents in Magrath, MacTaggart area who are struggling with this issue as well. I wish to explore possibilities to group up and help each other out on making our lives easier with the half-day kindergarten program.

To kick it off, here are my two cents. 8 F% ^( B$ w3 l7 h

We need to make up our mind as to which school to register to since one kid can only send in ONE registration at a time, and it can be really hard to switch school in the middle of the year. Currently there are two options for my daughter:
+ ^$ U \$ M, K5 ~# [( `6 S2 L& y% z0 ?6 u# u1 C6 D3 T u
Option 1: Regular program - a new school - Nellie Carlson(http://www.epsb.ca/schools/newsc ... ions/nelliecarlson/) is under construction and scheduled to open September 2016; boundaries not finalized yet. 1 u% ~& k8 G/ F o w' J
No on site child care available. 8 [/ R6 }! X2 n+ V( X* H( j
, U1 j$ d% v# i- U$ X# b$ Z
IF we fall under the final boundary, what to do with the afternoons? My husband and I both work full-time 30 minutes drive from home. I maybe able to take one afternoon off in a week, part-time is not likely an option.- e" F1 T1 U# h- i, e, T
; }! e5 d+ `' l. ~Option 2: Mandarin Bilingual program - Parkallen School where there is a YMCA KinderCare close by, $755 a month, AND there is a wait list.7 K6 ]3 l B- ^
Honestly, I wish to send my daughter to the Mandarin Bilingual school, but again, there is the afternoon issue, YMCA is not guaranteed and expensive. I wonder if there are other parents considering this school and we could come up with a program to support each other and incorporate with Chinese elements. + p8 f7 r: h# Z+ D* T+ d/ T4 ?
