1 M% V2 p3 u+ z! ^1 K/ p　　North country scene:
                                                                                               
　　A hundred leagues locked in ice,

　　A thousand leagues of whirling snow.

　　Both sides of the Great Wall

　　One single white immensity.
8 h7 R' `0 F7 g! u, `9 Q4 j
% \. I& V, E, c9 w" W8 V  f" _+ W　　The Yellow River"s swift current

　　Is stilled from end to end.

　　The mountains dance like silver snakes
) D6 U1 k; I2 p& N+ D+ o5 R
　　And the highlands* charge like wax-hued elephants,

　　Vying with heaven in stature.
8 ^& a% k; ^/ b3 ?7 Y
　　On a fine day, the land,
" H& f0 k( a; G+ {
　　Clad in white, adorned in red,

　　Grows more enchanting.

' Z8 T0 |: ^& }# C7 D% `8 N6 ^　　This land so rich in beauty

- q% J3 B- L# b& u& r, w　　Has made countless heroes bow in homage.

　　But alas! Chin Shih-huang and Han Wu-ti

　　Were lacking in literary grace,
' Q4 x) M& N- C2 ^, l
　　And Tang Tai-tsung and Sung Tai-tsu

; _. V6 z3 x% @. Z! p　　Had little poetry in their souls;
　　And Genghis Khan,

　　Proud Son of Heaven for a day,
0 D  o2 z6 P: T- ~4 R' N
+ t( \& D3 Q. d9 C  r% R( z　　Knew only shooting eagles, bow outstretched

　　All are past and gone!

　　For truly great men
# U) y* P( w7 s' t5 h1 t& Q8 d5 \
　　Look to this age alone.

　　唐宗宋祖 稍逊风骚 一代天骄 成吉思汗 只识弯弓射大雕
