The NDP is dominating Edmonton at 51%, according to the survey, and is in a three-way race in Calgary.7 ~3 z. T7 D9 C& S' n

The telephone poll of 3,121 Albertans conducted Monday showed that compared to a week earlier:6 \1 r0 j+ v7 ^4 C& ]
' I; w L! s) r5 r6 _5 U: e$ fWildrose is flat with 24% support) `, W8 k7 [2 [( e k
NDP increased to 23% support, up 3%
$ M2 W7 W' }" m4 GThe PCs dropped to 18%, down 3%4 m$ @! ]: s/ g, P# x& f, v+ a6 K
Liberal support is down a point, to 8%. O: Z* S8 i5 i0 _+ l% i& }9 u
The Alberta Party is up a point to 3%

“One thing is becoming clear at this stage of the campaign, the effect of the budget and residual anger to the governing PCs will have a lasting impact on the outcome of this election,” said Mainstreet’s Quito Maggi.

V- N# P/ W+ I4 C“Although the Wildrose continue to lead, their support is flat and may have no room to grow. The NDP are definitely contenders and have the momentum.”8 A7 o* z0 c& |- p2 D6 x

; D: F' V0 j. f1 ZMaggi said there is still time for the Tories to swing momentum as, with nearly three weeks before the May 5 vote, “more and more people will be paying attention.”8 L: i; X8 C5 q

" N- w: b6 M m: S1 qThe NDP showed a whopping 51% support in Edmonton, to the Tory’s 21% and and Wildrose 10%.

It’s a three-way race in Calgary (WR 29%, PC 27%, NDP 25%).
