An ATV crash in western Manitoba has left a woman dead and a man, who was knocked into spillway, missing and presumed drowned. CBC's Nelly Gonzalez reports.

$ r1 Q% R5 u0 k1 X" O! wAccording to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.

7 V, d5 K* \, o! K% u. i, l5 l! tShe lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.

. m, s5 r+ ]' f. T% j, rSearch efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.# O. t l; ?6 H1 S( v4 n

9 b9 u; `% V2 S) G' uA Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. Rivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.$ l7 [- J- D2 c, n' F! A% t
