ATV crash leaves woman dead, man presumed drowned
% ?+ P. J6 y' a7 ^" v An ATV crash in western Manitoba has left a woman dead and a man, who was knocked into spillway, missing and presumed drowned. CBC's Nelly Gonzalez reports.

According to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.; A% X" G! ]. ?+ u, Z( Z
. `4 L. x. {- Y- v+ I
She lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.

Search efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.# F; q% S- J V( [' e

( q5 X" u, f3 }# W8 h2 JA Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. The names of the man and woman are not being made public by the RCMP.+ }5 w# ^+ m3 R, m7 m' ^2 i9 ^, X% g
& d: H8 }0 C5 l/ C1 h- WRivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.- \! ^5 K5 Y4 [3 t
