Job Description:         

JOB FUNCTIONS:

[; z0 h- m+ j7 |• Support capital projects and network build activity with coordination, installation, and commissioning duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met.

0 Y% {: d+ W7 T% j; n2 A+ H' \( ^" |• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels.

; h2 g( d0 S" i2 Q7 g) o• Plan for and implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.

• Maintain "up-to-date" site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.

, S& z0 C9 \' e6 h! a) |: w) M• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.

0 v8 g% D. Q! {% m• Microwave and Transmission experience (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3, OC3, OC12, IP) • Gain in depth knowledge of key quality service indicators in geographic area of responsibility.

& m6 O' _  f: t4 k; ^3 ^! ]• Optical Fiber, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP • Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities.

9 h, a, [" ]! Z+ p7 S" R• Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.

& B6 s6 n4 O9 Z  q" T• Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.

5 M/ J! u0 ?4 ?• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes.

• Document activities for future assessment analysis.

• 5 years of telecommunications experience.
" J" z' V4 b$ y; m7 H8 y
• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

: q. d0 T3 N$ j• Demonstrated investigative, problem solving, analysis and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.

• Standby, overtime and shift work is required.

The Manager is looking for a contractor with the following skills:

2 I: d- y& C- B# ?+ k  ^7 t0 L% I-Telecom Diploma with at least 2 years of post secondary education -Experience working at a cell site -Must be willing to travel around Alberta (expenses will be reimbursed) -Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Internet Protocol Analyzers, RFC testing and Microwave testing *The manager is not looking for Engineers.
