Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project! x' x. e6 j4 ~

Job Purpose:( K3 D2 X: y$ V# c4 I" g3 M
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 7 k4 J. n/ M1 V, G3 ]$ S+ M

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)6 r7 a" @6 m# Z, Q0 ~

- E" a" d7 g& NAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:* |! Z: b9 V) _3 g% J, H
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;* _- w) H$ a) i" g  s- c
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
" g8 s: s$ F, k* j. F3 B•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;7 Q6 ^# Q& R7 p% B4 a0 x2 C
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;   ^0 ]5 y# G9 m# \- T
•        Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  0 z6 R9 {! x2 ?  k
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
8 \+ p& i0 F4 e4 X" y! \•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;. k+ V) B! x4 Y7 A
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;( z* ^1 J$ k4 L0 Q  M
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities6 e. @* i1 l/ T. O
•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
$ D* v3 N; U% u2 z8 y•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;, c/ P! V; M9 `# C2 Y- W5 o
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
% B: }" o8 i9 w3 m4 X" z% ?% |•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

. b. x8 _1 p4 O1 ?9 o5 i* K( PQualifications:
# ~! w/ g7 B2 I* A8 W/ A7 g, }•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
8 k3 P7 q$ Y& X3 D* c0 s" p•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
( w+ F& H5 S0 W5 B' T•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  0 f7 |) G5 P( x: ^. f
•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
3 k- V" J( H& u' y) T•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.: v. s' U) D: s7 S. S
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;' c1 R9 I8 ^& K
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;- L; j- @7 f- m- l
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
( U/ c  W5 \# C/ m! T, j, ]! E•        Current valid drivers license;
" m$ B. N; }2 v& ^  Q•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
0 k4 Q% n6 ]; U4 Z- I•        Conflict resolution skills;/ R1 d: d5 b3 s' V  F; D
•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;( N5 @+ j4 ^4 }
•        Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
