Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news 2 f, N# N$ B3 L4 w
- provide volunteers to update membership database, I. A. H! q8 U' b- B9 n
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
8 _, z: s1 W: g$ N, N' @: B- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
8 R# U" S8 J/ c: h, \- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
( M: N' n! M& O- provide volunteers for various programs ! H6 q) z5 f5 ` C
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual( K2 Q( J& d$ N! f- v
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation8 d8 X/ g |% l6 Y9 R; G4 Q t
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
/ C" l+ {! D* i$ R' Y/ W7 j* M* s- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
, Y3 b9 z$ o% C3 o% G* n7 [" n- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
5 e5 w! v c0 t% q7 g) @- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
# E" F2 _5 o% H3 S# [) ^6 e- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events

- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
! c5 Q2 S- ~) A" c4 U% B- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
- V8 B6 N& e4 B" D4 u; s- ?1 S- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

Qualifications4 Q, X- A" r; a' y( f( E
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education' Q3 Q- @2 F! `" ?
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills+ v8 i" }' W) i+ h
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services- F2 \1 H+ _ o
- leadership skills# n+ y( n: T0 u7 @2 D; D
- management and supervision skills
