Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week

- provide volunteers to update membership database( {9 y( R2 v/ a8 E" w$ {6 A: s# O
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
: \( H# h: I- I( D1 _- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties; L3 v; V! T9 s! Z# s
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
& q) g7 Y/ s* X* V# |- |- provide volunteers for various programs : w6 j8 f `3 [
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
- A D/ x2 I* ]0 i, Y9 L# n- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation# B2 n H- ^0 I9 j
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities% ^/ G( Y0 S# T
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
, f/ j' n0 a0 [* q# B7 F5 h- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports2 p1 q7 E2 |! g) b
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed9 f, o5 T! H1 I8 Y
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
1 q4 b' x2 v( U- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
7 F! O. Z) _* n) S- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 4 W9 E6 N, m% t
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
7 x' P6 Q' {5 ~8 {; m, r- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
* f0 {$ W% {/ @) D- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
9 l% [7 g, `) |- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis / O3 r" L1 @ e4 N4 O3 H. A- I' p
- evaluations ( }8 t9 P3 q. Z7 c6 U
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
/ F+ Q) V4 C! n$ X. r! X- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
E! A/ p0 Y9 O% { V* }- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
* `3 E2 H1 @5 I6 S+ y5 j- leadership skills5 j t2 }2 _+ t3 `9 i
- management and supervision skills: M+ B/ G9 u3 X
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
