Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

1 ~$ X u( z' t5 q* u- submit information for community news " k O6 B: ]1 s X+ f; T
- provide volunteers to update membership database
( G1 J- V/ g* E- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers7 @+ [: ^! @( M! f
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
, B( p" G! F4 M# f4 l# y- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties/ c4 ?' `1 l1 m) r: F
- provide volunteers for various programs & z+ p% g% [& b3 Y; z5 m6 ` p. {
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual" D5 p6 N" q) F9 y
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
- X" ^; _+ [; w& w4 z3 d; D; ~- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities7 Q- N" u. _4 b" l9 ` I7 H) S' ]% x8 ]
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
+ Z o, E) v/ v5 u. m# }. L- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports9 }; g! W; ^$ Q, I3 O5 `
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
q/ k! }' v5 }+ j& H- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed& B" v# V+ J8 B5 y& _6 x
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
! j4 M2 V9 s+ y' B- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
' O/ X* Y5 g, a# p# R/ W# ]' E- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
: `; j7 B5 U% c8 j( j9 u- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
6 Y. z9 n: N. a- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
7 u, X6 F0 b: J& ]( E5 y& K5 F- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
$ K3 a9 g% b' R6 k6 {2 z1 [8 J- evaluations
& ]+ q& ^4 r3 v0 [- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre) ]' t0 E& d$ ^/ W# K' U
0 M$ ?; K4 u P0 vQualifications( G# d1 w6 H* b/ k M
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
8 P$ p4 ^! `. @. _/ @/ `0 V- good oral and written Chinese and English skills9 |: J7 M A8 I# l" {
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
8 X. j* c0 D% C- K M2 a# T- leadership skills- x* j# D$ t3 m! q
- management and supervision skills' s) w2 L4 K/ @' _8 ^/ h1 k Z. \
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
