Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news - [" [+ d: D+ h* z& e% ~6 y# C
- provide volunteers to update membership database
1 q9 ?) L. ]7 _" o$ U" M( k9 x9 @. |# u- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
" A8 x" s6 F& ^' s- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
2 `9 D& q% a* ~8 S1 {. m: e- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
+ L! W5 I0 X3 G& J2 B- provide volunteers for various programs
9 y4 Y* h" X2 ~% n/ ^( n0 m7 T/ f- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual( m0 j: T, [: t5 X1 y" }
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation( ]3 l$ @4 v8 K, e
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed) e% R& X! _" v0 ^' v
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)9 ~' p: D( U7 G8 ?9 [
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events Y5 m- u' H; q- Q: K2 o0 C
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
$ k/ K; k; X" g. Q$ X: R/ O% `- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
, q6 k6 }( g: m- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
) S; O! J4 H/ w2 Y8 @3 o/ z- good oral and written Chinese and English skills4 L# m& k; B, O) E8 P3 {
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services% I' u# l' O+ S. m: g" Q* R- m

- management and supervision skills
