Position Title:  Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker
! ]3 [+ |2 p# \+ t* {Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)

: a  N0 P& T% V* f8 q# @# ^Position Summary:
  f3 j4 m. y, ]3 J4 sWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. 6 q/ O" w4 e3 g2 G3 V! q4 q  W

2 K: X9 c( Z7 Y) w; L1 K2 WKey Responsibilities:
* z$ l$ o. }0 g( G' S8 q7 @9 K•        Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
2 H7 A, f9 `& V•        Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST( B+ [8 }3 X* Z3 ^/ O
•        Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
+ M! i  n0 @# Y, K: K•        Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter* q% N9 |8 T1 E3 T
•        Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents  ~, H. H. S" V
•        Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
; a% I7 g2 a- D3 p•        Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
7 n4 W0 \6 P  k•        Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
+ b# n2 X1 B  F/ `0 H•        Keep the reception area tidy and clean
: \4 `6 J8 J. p0 @' t•        Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters. t6 E& @( `9 R/ U' H
•        Maintain front counter service files7 e6 I( u- B8 H
•        Perform general office duties as assigned
4 k+ P) E: L+ T% M  u•        Report to ISP Program Manager

1 b7 m& K9 f% ]2 RKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:% a& r4 ~' K: @, q% i
•        Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person0 V0 _  S; U- l" g/ m
•        Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset" a. W# ^& K# |' b4 o) _
•        Good English writing and oral communication skills
' E9 ^4 U4 d* x8 `0 K. z. S•        Ability to work with newcomers and general clients" C  x) {: @7 w7 g+ c3 E! Y7 f
•        Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
2 F% R+ e' ]7 V) `•        Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
+ p& l- K$ _" K) G0 b•        Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds
1 v3 M$ R, S+ ]3 F+ b% b% N•        Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment
4 v5 X7 M/ a* _4 `•        Knowledge of immigrant services; h* n" N+ `0 l! t% n& J; U

Qualifications:
; u1 ]% M  M6 U! U/ ^•        2-4 years of office and clerical experience * Q2 _1 `6 i4 r
•        Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment- c; u7 K2 `( W5 |% e5 q
•        Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism& t& G/ `2 E; s& f: u, \1 \* h
•        Ability to work well under minimal supervision" n& o$ A1 A# D% s
