of the new Nikon D800. Established medium-format image quality is

within a body that boasts revolutionary technological advances. The 3D color

in low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D800+ A. R3 y8 e: V; f6 R% I Y" G
allows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject

widely accepted that image quality was compromised in lieu of speed and
4 X1 O- T! [3 M" ?6 [6 O/ {1 j" Uconvenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown4 @" n7 `0 q* j
before, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,
: u& f8 g- R4 `) B& u7 J, Xthanks to the D800.
" j4 w/ J# e' aWhen I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,
: A& U t6 _& B36.3 megapixels changes the industry standard: in image quality, dynamic
: {% R, K: \1 P2 Orange, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces
, W( \$ R0 ?% e4 ^/ |2 E' ythe look of a medium-format camera, but gives me the feel and response of a

Autofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor

- F Y$ c& ?6 w2 calso feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New
6 u4 N7 z9 p! \2 D9 s2 O4 Icameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features
/ f: Z( n6 `; z1 ?in such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality0 ~9 i* r3 W: a0 m. l
prints and video.! d: [( @- |( Q* U# Z/ q; D7 A
To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is' g& w) e* A4 } A& n" R: C3 E
not megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models1 R3 _3 _+ _. T- I8 T- ~: L
are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using2 A: f' B9 @ D) I$ b: Q& E( N; r
countless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first
. H8 }7 a5 j i% P0 _sight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws
) K1 m# O( Y; i, b" S Ylike never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of
& F# _. t, ? ]8 Xacuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I3 X' `) q+ H' u2 k+ R
am enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as! k( m$ b9 ^4 C5 g
though they were made with a 4x5 view camera! Special features like timelapse/ s0 M3 n- N% V; M7 @. S* e
photography and the improved HD video quality and flexibility also add" a& f9 Y! D9 i5 y) F g3 }+ h
tremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the$ R$ k+ T% t$ j* X2 a0 n
D800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express

As a modern architectural photographer I am always looking for a lightweight,

( u. s B, ` C' U9 _& W* uclean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility
) h# k6 P2 W% h1 ]1 Dto work at unusual shooting locations and capture images in an exceptional
' I- {& a R. k- b3 B! f- Qrange of light. It definitely takes my photographic versatility and image quality
