Senior C#.net / SQL consultant. 1yr contract starting April 2nd, 2012.

In general, key aspects of the role are:
" M: L# y+ w: L2 c-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
' B5 C3 s% O/ T9 V' ?technology;
-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
) ?" r: k3 }, C" G; C  g( r-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
+ l% r2 Q0 ~, H* _9 t+ T-        Participate in peer reviews;
-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
-        Programming planned enhancements;
' t+ v0 W" P# P# I% ^- \: y-        Testing system changes;
9 l7 `0 L7 R* o/ b-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
department’s change management processes;
1 V5 {. g9 ?# r  B3 H& M; t-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
* h/ U; a: y& p" ^8 I8 n. D-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
  k+ B5 M( m' X-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
-        Lead short term projects;
3 t1 \9 l; a# t# L8 g-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
7 J' p) {6 D6 W: W( f! B-        Excellent written communication skills;
-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure

' ^! C- u' j' u: c-        Understanding of project management.

(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
for incorporating new technology.

(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

: U! J9 D1 a9 A. H, |(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

3 w' L3 ?5 l" J! L(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
) J* u( L+ }' r& C- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
