In this article, Rhodes revealed a connection of the poverty to the Aids through a series of stories about sex workers in Thailand, which were happening in different situations. According to Rhodes, sex workers mostly came from destitute families in rural Thailand. They traded their sex in order for their families to live better lives in future.
