YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. 8 [% e" Q$ p- I: t+ z
Job Responsibilities:& A% c+ L7 C4 u

Payroll:$ M9 }+ `+ _% W( y; N8 ~* V' ]% k
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired! T1 i- z5 x! K
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
& \2 Q1 ~7 U2 u, e7 D% W1 V* A• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records & f/ F6 M' ]+ x
• Input benefit deductions into payroll2 Q% [/ l, ]% I* e. a# h% K& n
3 ]; u4 T& z) c jReporting duties:
# B8 ^1 R! D. ^ J6 ?# s) A• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
- O1 Q( i& I1 c+ a4 h• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website6 W- q1 S, [' t+ ?8 C% S& p
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s! p3 ?7 Z& k8 J
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority
- R0 }$ P+ B& W: d% Y% K• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

- z. M; P% O4 S D9 KCompliance:
5 l0 M9 S! }* w0 G1 ~0 u• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll $ j& A9 K9 |+ T, U
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.* F& j; H: t, A' \
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
: G& p; a& P- v! N• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit+ Y' @2 ~- i- r9 |! _
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department3 p, z Q+ |0 Q
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments7 |; [+ {9 `" U
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:
7 q3 T# A0 r2 T; s) F% V% H5 `$ C) C; z& M
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
1 z. n" R: z' @& _! \• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association' @' v2 O9 N* q0 H4 r/ m
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
( m' o- O1 h) G( F• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office

• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
