YOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
4 G/ E5 z% D# ^9 z2 rAdvocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
peacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
: O& ~0 N8 t' z& p9 a! m' W( ^7 HThe YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded
& @3 F; V; B' M% y4 g+ B
: p# t" D8 P- z, m* D" a0 Rproject that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
+ B2 X1 c9 f0 Z* x0 O* w5 oemployability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
The goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
1 [  Z6 W/ c$ S1 F, n6 Fthe skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
' e4 C. G' b* N9 x# eparticipants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
1 \% R+ b$ K8 YAdditionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
follow-up once the program is completed.

YOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
