YOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and

) P6 t3 i1 m( B; znine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to9 Z" P0 A( f- v& |: _6 s: L' s
peacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.% v1 d+ }3 @5 P
The YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded" g% Z1 Z: H j0 x
) ~" q3 {! {$ O) ~& G8 c7 Rproject that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased% Z0 ]2 l3 s6 [" {% B+ O
employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
' \5 h1 R9 J7 }% X% N: t$ Q1 |1 YThe goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
: |( h3 T3 f! Y( _% M6 ]' Pthe skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
+ {0 L ]" g c: Jparticipants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,! j0 m3 |& R3 g2 }9 \3 k: P
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.. R+ C; B. z6 g$ `# Y
Additionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,$ P1 v; L% _; }6 y& H& e
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
/ P; m. b% h' Z9 Ffollow-up once the program is completed.

Verto project will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the5 V/ p* U0 z' K/ |# H
