In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.6 Q q5 M2 R }) Q9 z% `

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. % i6 }, V; P$ D, `! o, g. n
SEDI is staffed to:
- e2 E1 [" M! u, V- j• conduct socio-economic market and policy research / C7 `& ~ @$ h+ `1 k/ I, a
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners b% |+ D9 e* n7 Q) V2 }, R% O
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation 6 i: I/ d: F) J- p" e1 R
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs 3 }* y7 S/ I& A' ]
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits 6 g, m) w ~( Q5 [0 a( F; ^ \
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

' V" x2 y" ^3 b" k& UPrimary Responsibilities and Activities: 3 f! m9 @! c# f+ M* ~2 P
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 3 M9 l' |3 I& b+ P' ^% N
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) & T; s7 q- V1 W
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required ; p) S$ g6 s4 V
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities & o; l) W% g! p# l' m
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
5 `0 L0 N* |# w$ I* a4 K; x: b• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
6 S8 {: l; U* N• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
% R/ c9 e n" `8 k1 r7 y) x• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting . K/ _, d- \( G: C+ f/ N
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
, k2 s( D4 C8 t1 v' L8 C6 H1 A• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

8 d7 C. P% O( X; Q• Demonstrated group facilitation experience 5 m. h- |5 N. ^$ ]$ o' v
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media ; P, U+ ~3 S5 R, Q6 P: D% }
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training & v! t( f4 M- K- h- K |2 B
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
) Z( L, H- G y2 u- X• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams 7 S2 O1 \: v$ B! W- F
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals ( {- [/ A6 F8 U% ]/ s
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
6 `& M0 V9 }( w, q5 l& g" W• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
+ |. P. d5 i0 b3 B• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc - n7 R- D( o s R. J# a
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners % ?( q( i" f5 j) w6 p4 a: c4 r
• Excellent organizational skills

• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset " G5 v8 H0 L# ~2 `3 z |

• Marketing and communication experience an asset
