Key Responsibilities
( _' n2 u0 u) v# [9 qThe key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:
5 S; f P4 D# K: S3 N# H: h4 x* l9 }1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation" Y2 e6 u d1 V/ ~/ V) q" B
• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers
7 q' I8 e9 l% ^! O* ~, G• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests
& Z2 @; V3 t' s6 r3 B1 E6 r• Ensure job descriptions are kept current
' |4 r7 n8 i3 q- ^4 e/ U• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs

• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval

0 L1 P- s( i0 \# w• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance

9 C. d( N; @8 B3. Performance Management Support

• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching2 P9 \5 v& N- \; ]1 m7 n1 k
• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations); |/ o- O0 [1 e- t" K* {
• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations5 |* c, O- t0 [. E* u: p
• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee

• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals
1 S5 U d: k* {8 Y, w3 p• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices3 v: a s! |$ c

5. Management Support and Planning
- L( e6 D; n9 Q1 F• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues

• Manage salary structure and job evaluation system, from time to time, as required. J; q3 h$ ]$ |8 ^5 t6 P1 a& M

7. Payroll and Benefits
3 J/ a; I0 |9 r7 _5 c3 ]/ F) K• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider

• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs1 e* m1 j; ~$ S: e7 q

Qualifications & Expertise
% }3 [, [" Q! ? Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)" e: x# p) G- T$ l1 F; D* h d
 Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)4 E2 |. T, Q% I/ E( v, q
 A CHRP designation is an asset- y/ y2 I2 _6 H$ l7 \4 X
 Experience in the health care industry is an asset
& J& n" b* d- _" I/ {+ A+ v Experience managing change is preferred

Hours of Work & (if any) Special Considerations
