Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer

 Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met./ q, D) }' ]6 J
 Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.! m  Z# H* X5 j. a, B- n
 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.: `% U0 M3 U" H9 \' y+ I
 Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.

 Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.& `& q: ]' e) |  M+ K; a4 v

 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.

 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
0 A  d" b$ P$ F Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.- d- H; L3 f  ]6 g: h& I( ~
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.

 Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.1 n) x! K" _% l7 }4 g
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.9 {/ L/ |4 `0 A  {. _! G4 l  I5 Y
 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.

 Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan. }2 F9 y; Q! j: t
 Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment5 Y9 U: Z& v- u  s! {
 Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada
8 U3 l3 E# l! `  k* Y1 g" ~ Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants
. t5 Y3 S9 W+ r" D2 u Complete participant reviews with the participants
: C' K( F  X: Q- R  D0 `1 y Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion
