• supports foreign-educated engineer and engineering technologists, and

Alberta is home to many foreign-educated immigrant engineers. These+ A' p& {5 m3 S( v/ o, Q* @
immigrants are highly educated and experienced, yet many may find it
; q3 c3 o. Z2 d" ]difficult to integrate into the Alberta workforce. Some employers may not9 o- a8 }4 P) o3 _
recognize their international experience or credentials.

Integrated training offers a blend of occupation-related skills, a work9 t) ]) {, B3 o+ v
experience and competency-based training, such as applied academics or

/ C; l% I4 I" F/ J% v. Q" ?) ]& RAs of 2003, more than 80% of ETIP graduates over the past six years have
5 g* ]3 l7 z6 o% C. k+ xfound engineering or engineering technologist employment in Alberta.
* J2 ?$ M8 J2 R% d f8 s( dIn 2004, 46 engineers graduated from the ETIP program. At the time of' n4 Q u5 W3 L3 o$ l+ D* |
graduation, almost half had secured employment in the engineering industry,
7 g5 I- v3 u# ~ i2 ?with over 90% employed at three months post-graduation.
