immigrants are highly educated and experienced, yet many may find it1 H6 Y( E- C3 ~* |; a. u
difficult to integrate into the Alberta workforce. Some employers may not! k5 h* M6 K( G( O7 B
recognize their international experience or credentials.. }) F! u- Z# R4 z6 u7 E* }% A
What is the practice?7 d6 e4 |5 p) z1 p
Integrated training offers a blend of occupation-related skills, a work3 x5 y4 f$ B# d1 {& K5 N
experience and competency-based training, such as applied academics or
# U- ]" q& f! p( N% u* Q3 j" zEnglish as a Second Language.& J K, k1 t/ z4 Y: P

• engineering-related training delivered at NAIT:

Canadian workforce.

graduates.

4 l9 v& F$ d& OAs of 2003, more than 80% of ETIP graduates over the past six years have/ J: \4 E2 d& b+ q2 k' [
found engineering or engineering technologist employment in Alberta.8 j4 T' u: {# v3 k( U
In 2004, 46 engineers graduated from the ETIP program. At the time of; v4 Z& [" g3 Q3 ]
graduation, almost half had secured employment in the engineering industry,
9 ]' @' ?3 m Y) a+ Z+ wwith over 90% employed at three months post-graduation.
