Breaking News: Death at Jackpine mine

Shell Canada has confirmed to Mix News that a death has occurred at the Shell Albian Sands Jackpine oil sands mine 75 kilometres north of Fort McMurray.% E) [3 E' N5 f- M2 c |7 K9 s

Emergency crews responded to the scene at around 7:15 am, and the individual was transported to the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre where they were pronounced dead.$ m+ c% x% c X- s3 Y

Shell says it believes the death was an "isolated event", and "does not appear to be related to workplace activity".
